Where did all my SPAM go?

June 10, 2003

In the interest of providing the highest quality service to our customers, Waypoint Communications is proud to announce the introduction our cutting-edge junk mail filtering tools. You'll now have more control over what comes into your email inbox than ever before! You won't need to reconfigure anything on your computer; you manage your personal filtering settings online.

  • You decide how aggressively your mail gets filtered.
  • You decide who's messages should never be misidentified as spam.
  • You can see every message thats been filtered and have an opportunity to easily recover them.

All the email that arrives for you at Waypoint will be examined according to the preferences you set. Our junk mail filters use a precise mathematical formula to assign a point value to each message based on keywords and traits that are common to spam. If that value exceeds the number you set, it won't be downloaded into your email program on your computer, but instead it will sit here for seven days. During that time you'll have an opportunity to view any messages filtered as spam. If they were misidentified, you can add the sender to your "whitelist" and their messages will never again be tagged as spam.

All you have to do to get started is login to WebMail. You'll see a link for the "Waypoint Filtering Guide" in the upper left hand corner. This detailed guide will explain all you need to know about how our mail filtering system works and how to customize it so you get the most of it. Feel free to print out a copy of the guide and keep it near your computer.

Our sincere intention is that the effort we've put into this filtering system makes your time on the Internet safer, more enjoyable, and more fun! As always, we welcome your comments and feedback. You can always email us here at support@waypoint.com, use our convenient feedback form, or give us a call here at the office at (360) 385-6003.
